Regular Mandarin Chinese lessons for teens (10 to 17 years old) provide a systematic way to learn Chinese. In regular Chinese classes, teens will receive systematic training in four aspects: Chinese listening, Chinese speaking, Chinese reading, and Chinese writing. The Chinese lessons for foreign citizens of Chinese origin and foreign citizens of non- Chinese origin are different.

Courses in this level teach you about 700 characters and words as well as more than 90 basic sentence patterns, by which simple Chinese conversation and writing can be achieved. Topics such as school life, family, classmates' relationship, nature and society are involved. Chinese culture will be properly introduced as well.

In this level, you will master another 750 characters, 1800 new words as well as over 100 new sentence patterns. After completing this level, you will be able to read texts in Chinese mandarin, construct simple sentences, and even say and write a paragraph or a letter after observing pictures, things, or reading texts.

In this level, you will master another 500 characters, 1200 new words and another 100 new sentence patterns by which you can talk fluently in Mandarin Chinese and simultaneously have no obstacles to learning Chinese literature including fables, myths, folk tales, folk-custom, prose, ancient poetry and fiction.

You are expected to master the Chinese pronunciation system and practice simple Chinese dialogues with short utterances such as greetings, self-introduction and asking time, place, age, weather, price and so on. Expressions of preference, dating, a doctor's visit, and holiday plans can be achieved. You can also cheer and evaluate a competition in Chinese.

You will practice dialogues with long utterances and write some simple articles. Fluent Chinese can be used in introducing friends, landscapes, and other things; borrowing things; organizing and attending sports competitions; sending things as festive congratulations and expressing ideas on activities; selecting clothes, shoes, and so on.

In this level, you will be able to talk freely in Chinese and write some long articles. You will master more than 280 new characters and 460 new words by which you can express your views about family, travel, entertainment, cultural differences, health and diet.

You can master another 250 new characters and 530 new words by which you can express your views fluently on traveling to different places, Chinese traditional culture, social activities, future instruction and professional ideals.

Advanced students can master over 500 more characters, 1200 words, and 100 sentence patterns. Fluent Mandarin Chinese can be achieved. Fables, myths, folk tales, folk-customs, prose, ancient poetry and fiction can be learned.
